Open a dependent case

Articles in this section

Employers have the ability to open most new cases for their employees on their own in the Envoy Global platform. A case is required for the legal team to prepare the petition for a non-immigrant or permanent filing to be processed by the government.

A dependent case may be needed if an employee has family members who require sponsorship. Dependents include spouses and any children under the age of 21.

We've provided step-by-step instructions on how company users can open a dependent case for family members of U.S. inbound employees. For international employees, we recommend posting to the legal team in the Communication Center regarding dependents.

Employee questionnaire

When completing the primary case questionnaire, in most cases there is a Dependent section for employee users to complete. If information is input here, then the legal team will work with the employer to open the necessary case(s). If you already know that a dependent case is needed, then continue to the below instructions to open the case.
