Case status indicated as Initial Information Gathering

Articles in this section

To ensure all parties can remain updated on the status of a case, a timeline is featured on the Envoy Global platform highlighting the current stage of case processing. When a new case is opened in Envoy Global, it will be in the Initial Information Gathering stage. During this stage, the legal team gathers pertinent information from all necessary parties through the case questionnaire and supporting documents. This information will be thoroughly reviewed by the legal team to ensure they have what they need to prepare the case.

Actions must be completed by all parties before the case can be submitted to the legal team's review. When all actions are completed, you will see the option to Submit for Attorney or Immigration Manager Review.

Important Notice
Please complete all actions completely and to the best of your ability. The legal team will conduct a thorough review of all information provided and if further information is needed, they will request it. The legal team cannot begin preparing the case until it has been submitted to their review.

Employee action items

There are portions of this stage that may require action from the employee or other parties, such as the sponsoring employer. As actions are completed, the progress wheel on the left side of the questionnaire will updated. Employees should complete their actions to 100% including the case questionnaire and any requested documents.

Once all actions have been completed by all parties, then the option to submit the case to the legal team's review will appear.

The Envoy Global platform will show outstanding action that must be completed for this stage in the case action items list. Click View all Action Items within the case page for an expanded list of all the necessary action for a case.

If employees do not see the option to submit the case to the legal team’s review, but they have completed 100% of their actions, then the case will be submitted on their behalf.

Employer action items

Some casework may require action from the sponsoring company to be completed, including a case questionnaire and document requests. Company users can view a list of action items from the Active Cases tab. Once all actions are completed to 100%, then users should see the option to submit the case for the legal team's review.

Employers can view the outstanding employee actions needed for primary casework. Please know that reminders are sent to employees to complete case action items, but we do recommend following up with them directly if actions have not been completed.

Submitting the case to attorney review

Once the case has been submitted for review, it will move to Attorney/Immigration Manager Review where the legal team can begin case preparation.

The questionnaire cannot be edited after the case has moved to the legal team's review, but any edits needed can be shared with the legal team in the Communication Center. Additional documents can be provided throughout case processing and the legal team will be notified when new documentation is uploaded to the Support Documents for their review.
